756 Kenworths attend brand centenary celebration event

A massive 756 trucks attended the Southpac Trucks Kenworth 100 Years celebration at Mystery Creek Events Centre over Waitangi weekend, a turn out that exceeded all expectations.  

The Kenworth-only show certainly eclipsed any single brand truck show ever staged in New Zealand, with hundreds of the brand’s passionate fans attending the global centenary of the Kenworth marque.

Changes afoot as SH1 Ngāruawāhia gets up to scratch

State Highway 1 travellers will see some major changes as work continues to bring the Ngāruawāhia section of the Waikato Expressway up to 110km/h standard.

As median barrier works are completed at the southern end of the 4km worksite, the temporary safety barriers will be moved north to continue median works and complete various pavement treatments in both the north and southbound lanes.

Deserted road makes for safer and quicker work environment

Night closures of the Desert Road will keep the highest stretch of road on the state highway network reaching for the stars.

Night works kick off on Sunday 11 February, with work taking approximately 5 weeks to complete. Workers will be on site Sunday to Thursday between 6pm and 6am each night, with SH1 closed between Waiouru and Rangipo during this time.
