Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK has announced the all-new UNI-TOUCH operating system for the Unimog implement carrier, which is available to order now ahead of first deliveries in the second half of the year.

Flexible median safety barriers will be installed along the middle of State Highway 2 from Spur Avenue over the Bayfair flyover as part of the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) Baypark to Bayfair Link (Bay Link) project from Sunday 21 January 2024.
The barriers will link up with the existing Tauranga Eastern Link barriers and improve safety by preventing collisions between traffic travelling on SH2 to/from Hewletts Road and the Bayfair flyover.

South Port in Bluff is facing strike action after port workers rejected a pay offer from management.
The Maritime Union of New Zealand has given notice of 48 hours of strike action to take place from 7am Wednesday 31 January ending 7am Friday 2 February 2024. There may be further action to follow.
Maritime Union Bluff branch secretary Ray Fife says the action comes after 60 members at South Port voted “overwhelmingly” in favour of strike action.
