Cheers To Many Fewer Grape Harvest Spills

It’s been a good wine harvest in more ways than one this season in Marlborough.

Spillages from the picked grapes on the way from vineyards to wineries can see the road covered in grape juice which can make for slippery roads, and makes for sticky cars. It doesn’t help the amount of wine being made either.

Taupo’s Northern Linehaul has expanded its fleet of Scania off-highway trucks working in the Kaingaroa Forest with its first new R 620 stems unit. Energy Minister Simeon Brown has welcomed an important milestone in New Zealand’s hydrogen future, with the opening of the country’s first network of hydrogen refuelling stations in Wiri.

New Fairfield Freight Hub Gets More Goods On Rail

The new Fairfield Freight Hub offers efficient transport options and gets more of Canterbury’s goods on rail.

The intermodal rail-road hub was officially opened this afternoon at an event attended by Transport Minister Simeon Brown, Ashburton Mayor Neil Brown and senior managers from the Wareing Group and KiwiRail. 

KiwiRail Chief Executive Peter Reidy says the hub is great news for KiwiRail and the Ashburton area.

NPDC About To Start Trio Of Road Safety Improvement Projects

Making it safer for schoolchildren, cyclists, walkers and motorists is the focus of three road safety improvement projects by New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) due to start next week.

Two projects, between Bayly and Pioneer roads on Devon Street West/South Road, will result in greater safety for all users, particular school children, while intersection improvements will make it easier for ambulances to exit Lorna Street onto Devon Street West.
