Night time works on SH1 for Loop Road safety improvements

People travelling on SH1 between Portland Road and the SH15 roundabout can expect a night time closure with a detour via Loop Road from Monday 8 April between 7pm and 5:30am. 

The works are to construct a critical and deep service line across the road necessary for the Loop Road Safety Improvement project.

The works are for four nights only. SH1 will be fully reinstated each night for regular use during the day.

Bedding in the new chipseal on SH1 at Rangiriri

Resurfacing work on State Highway 1 at Rangiriri is on track for completion by Easter but road users should still allow extra time to get through the site this weekend.

A final chip-seal surface is being laid, along the 4.8km stretch of Waikato Expressway, completing the extensive remedial works that started last year. The northbound lanes have been completed and both northbound lanes will be open to traffic from Friday, 22 March.

SH1 Northbound Off-ramp At Papakura is now Open

Project teams have worked hard over the last three weeks to rebuild the Papakura northbound off-ramp, part of important strengthening work needed for the SH1 Papakura to Drury project.

The Papakura ki Pukekura - Papakura to Bombay project is part of a longer-term strategic transport network being investigated and delivered to support growth in South Auckland. Stage 1 of the project, Papakura to Drury, is currently being delivered through the NZ Upgrade Programme.
