Canterbury-based Container Waste Limited has recently added this 2023 International RH 10x4 `head turner’ to its fleet.

The impressive looking unit regularly carts general waste in enclosed capsules and special waste in covered open top bins around the Canterbury district. Its main destination is the Kate Valley Landfill with one or two trips a week up to Kaikoura.

When company owner Darryn Harris started planning for the new International some time ago he reached out to fellow hook truck owner Graham Pascoe, who also runs a 10x4 unit to the Kate Valley Landfill. Although Graham’s truck is a cabover configuration, his help and thoughts were much appreciate... ...

International’s 9870 R8 Skyroof Eagle has been available now for some time and there are plenty of standout examples working on New Zealand highways.

And with only a handful of 9870s left to be built at the Intertruck Distributors facility at Tauriko (Tauranga), this truck - owned by L D Rural Transport Ltd and contracted to Ranfurly Transport - might just be the best yet.

Owner-driver Lyndon Buchanan is the fourth generation of his family to have an association with the International brand. Lyndon’s great-grandfather, grandfather and father have all spent time behind the wheel of an International during their driving careers.

In the past five years Piopio couple Steven and Donna Pari have established and diversified their Pari Transport operation, fulfilling Steven’s passion for the industry and his interest in providing a locally owned and operated service for their hometown in the King Country.

The couple followed their passion of trucking and were ready for a new challenge in the rural sector after contracting to Progress Transport for more than 10 years.

Most Kiwi truck drivers will have driven over - or on - a section of road built using the precast concrete products made by Preco Ltd.

Now Tauranga-based Preco has a truck of its own on the road. And it didn’t need to look very far to decide on its first truck.

Head office for the company is the Tauriko business estate, and not far along the new network of roads is the recently opened Penske dealership.

Preco director Ian Davies says the company has outsourced its transport work for the past 20 years. But winning a contract in Wellington, not far from Preco’s precast plant at Otaki, led Ian and fellow director Brian Griffin to look at other trucking... ...
