A major new hub for Sime Darby Motors and Industrial operations is under construction at Waterloo Business Park in Christchurch. Development of three separate projects – purpose-built facilities on long-term leases for Sime Darby Motors New Zealand businesses and Terra Cat New Zealand, plus a shared four-storey head office – began in late 2023.

Prosecution exposes lack of Government ferry plan

The Maritime Union is calling on the Government to review its decision to dump planned new Cook Strait ferries after the prosecution of a ferry operator. 

Industry regulator Maritime NZ has filed a charge under the Health and Safety at Work Act against KiwiRail this week in relation to the January 2023 loss of propulsion incident involving the Interislander ferry, Kaitaki.

NZTA’s $2 Million ‘clip-on’ Footbridge Wasteful And Disruptive

The Taxpayers’ Union is calling on the government to direct the New Zealand Transport Agency to reassess expensive projects that are overly disruptive following the commencement of construction of a clip-on footbridge in Waikanae that is set to cost almost $2 million and disrupt traffic for five months.
