Carterton Council Cuts Costs On Roadworks by Closing Roads

Carterton District Council [CDC] is saving up to $3000 per day per job by closing roads temporarily instead of using stop-go traffic management. 

The new approach is not a formal policy, but does give “immediate savings”, a council spokesperson said. It has also found favour with Local Government Minister Simeon Brown.

End Of Fuel Tax As Cost Of Living Changes Kick In

The cost of living will be eased for many New Zealanders, says Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, as July 1 changes kick in.

National has come up with yet another way to make driving a car more expensive – this time adding more costs to sit a driver licence, Labour transport spokesperson Tangi Utikere said.
