SH29 Kaimai Range closure

A scheduled closure on State Highway 29 Kaimai Range will take place over 4 nights from Sunday 15 September to Thursday 19 September (5 nights), from 8pm to 3.30am each night.

The closures are needed to undertake asphalt renewals and other routine maintenance activities such as clearing drains, sign maintenance and road marking.

Transporting New Zealand welcomes road freight focus in NLTP

Road freight peak body Ia Ara Aotearoa Transporting New Zealand has welcomed today’s release of NZTA’s National Land Transport Programme 2024-2027 (NLTP), saying it will boost economic productivity and help future-proof the roading network. 

The NLTP sets out the activities and projects that NZTA will prioritise over the next three years, giving effect to the Government Policy Statement on land transport.

A red-letter day for infrastructure planning in New Zealand

If you happened to be by the NRC building at the right moment this week you would have been bemused to hear the sound of cheering emitting from my office. FAW launches in New Zealand

A new Chinese truck brand is launching with Intertruck Distributors NZ introducing FAW Trucks (First Auto Works) to the New Zealand market.

The first model to arrive from September is the heavy-duty FAW JH6, initially as a 6x4 tractor with 8x4 rigid versions set to follow. Longer term the FAW lineup will expand to also include light- and medium-duty models.
