Hyundai Motors New Zealand will deploy the first Mighty Fuel Cell electric light-duty truck for a 12-month pilot test program locally. This follows New Zealand’s successful introduction of the XCIENT Fuel Cell heavy-duty truck in 2021 and represents another leap forward in clean transport technology.
The Mighty Fuel Cell is Hyundai Motor’s first hydrogen-powered truck in the light-duty truck segment and will be running on New Zealand’s roads to complete an early pilot program.

Work to improve the visitor driving experience in the Mackenzie Basin through new highway pull-over areas and upgrades to existing stopping places is now complete, says NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).

Transport Minister Simeon Brown has given the green light for planning to begin on the long-awaited Woodend Bypass, with a toll among the funding options being considered.
Mr Brown joined Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey (pictured) at the Pegasus Roundabout in Canterbury on Friday to announce planning will begin on the Belfast to Pegasus Motorway, which includes the bypass on State Highway 1.

A reminder that State Highway 2 between Whirinaki and Tutira will be closing for three nights from next Monday 15 July for recovery work.
The state highway, between Tutira Store and Whirinaki, will be closed from 9pm to 5am each night between Monday 15 July and Thursday 18 July. The road will be open from 5am on Thursday 18 July.
