NZ Post Adds New eActros Electric Truck To Its Commercial Fleet

NZ Post is continuing to lead the way in sustainability by investing in zero emission transport technology with the first Mercedes-Benz eActros all-electric truck joining its fleet.
The 19-tonne truck is packed with next-generation battery technology, alongside advanced safety and driver assistance systems, plus online performance monitoring and data collection. It will be based in the greater Auckland area and operate daily between the Northshore and Silverdale covering over 300km.

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is advising road users to plan ahead and expect delays overnight on Tuesday 23 July, as planned repairs are undertaken on a bridge pile at the northern end of the Rangitata River Bridge, SH1.
The road will be reduced to a single lane from 8pm on Tuesday 24 July to 6am on Wednesday 25 July. Road users should plan for intermittent delays of up to 20 minutes while the bridge is jacked to facilitate the repairs.

Road freight peak body Ia Ara Aotearoa Transporting New Zealand says it welcomes the announcement that all fixed speed cameras will be signposted by June 2025.
Interim CEO Dom Kalasih says the commitment by Transport Minister Simeon Brown to have all fixed speed cameras clearly identified offers more carrot and less stick to road users.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead for the next stage of resurfacing the Te Rapa section of SH1C Waikato Expressway, with work switching to the southbound lanes from this week.
The bulk of the resurfacing of the northbound lanes is now complete and the Horotiu Interchange north-bound offramp has reopened.
In the next few days traffic will be switched on to the northbound lanes, remaining at one lane in each direction with speed restrictions in place between Koura Drive and the Horotiu Interchange.
