DAF has achieved back-to-back wins in the International Truck of Year award.

The new DAF XD series was revealed as the 2023 International Truck of the Year  during the IAA Transportation press day in Hanover, Germany.

The success follows the 2022 win by DAF’s new generation heavy-duty XF and XG models. The award is decided by a jury of 24 commercial vehicle editors and senior journalists representing 24 major trucking magazines throughout Europe.

Sold out! With almost four months till the 

big day, organisers of the 2023 Transfleet Trailers and Allied Petroleum Bombay Truck Show have filled all available spaces at the second running of the event.

Show coordinator Marieka Morcombe says every exhibitor stand at the January 23 event has been snapped up.

“We’ve got 58 exhibitors and 400 trucks signed up for the show. Four months out from the event it’s really exciting and the feedback we are getting is awesome,” Marieka says. 

“Even though we had the disappointment of Covid cancelling the 2022 event, I think we have a show that will be well worth the wait.”

Hino’s commercial and legal woes, stemming from the falsified emissions testing certification revealed in March, has led to it being expelled from the Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation (CJPT).

Since its establishment in April 2021, CJPT partners have been working to accelerate the spread of CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric) technologies which aim to contribute in achieving a carbon neutral society and reducing the burden on drivers and workers.

A new Cook Strait link will become available next year when MOVE Logistics Group  opens a gateway between Nelson and New Plymouth.

Move is accelerating its Oceans strategy by entering a funding agreement for $10 million of co-investment from Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency. It’s part of the $30m package announced in May by Minister of Transport Michael Wood for coastal shipping funding through the National Land Transport Programme (NLTP) to improve domestic shipping services, reduce emissions, improve efficiency and upgrade maritime infrastructure.
