The New Zealand transport registrations for the month of June reveal much the same themes as the previous quarter, and also continue to reflect the trends of 2025.
June 2026 monthly registrations (trucks 4.5 tonnes GVM and above) of 310 units lift the year-to-date (YTD) total to 1762. The June total is the second highest month for 2026 (March registrations totalled 341 units) and YTD the market is now fractionally ahead of the 1759 registrations for the corresponding half-year period in 2025.
The trailer market, with 88 registrations in June, shows a lift over the same month last year, when 76 new trailers were registered. It’s the equal-best month for trailers to date in 2026 (March also saw 88 registrations) but remains well behind 2018’s all-time best June monthly total of 164.
