Last week, Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks celebrated the grand opening of their first flagship showroom and Truckstops Service Centre in Christchurch, with a launch event that included VIPs from Volvo Group Australia (VGA), Sime Motors and guests from throughout the transport industry in New Zealand.

In attendance from VGA were Martin Merrick, President and CEO, Martin Jerresand, VP Service Market and Retail, and Tony O’Connell, VP Sales and Marketing Mack Trucks, alongside Sime Motors’s Managing Director, Andrew Basham and Managing Director for New Zealand Pat McKenna, General Manager of Commercial Sales, Michael Doeg and General Manager of Truckstops, Dave Butler.

It includes a large Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks showroom and handover bay, with customer meeting facilities, as well as an extensive 28 bay truck service, parts and distribution centre operation for Truckstops. 

This new state-of-the-art facility in Waterloo Business Park, has been specifically designed to enhance the Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks and Truckstops experience for South Island customers. 

These new facilities join other Sime Motors companies in Waterloo business park including TWL with a large truck parts South Island distribution facility and Terra Cat New Zealand’s head office, creating a South Island hub for Sime Motors to support its growing network of customers.
