Tim started as a truck driver 36 years ago. Later in my career I was self-employed for 15 years and then went into transport management. 6.5 of those years was spent working for Winstone.

He says that Transport Trailers is a company and product that he has worked alongside for years and I know it well, having seen product work and backed up with fantastic support. “Coupled with lifelong experience in transport, and knowing the team already, and how they operate, it was a safe bet to make the move to Transport Trailers,” he says.. 

Tim has been in the Transport Industry all his life and has a real passion for it, and says that this change to join Transport Trailers at the ‘back end of his career’ is a great way to refresh his love for the industry. ‘I get to learn and experience new things but be still involved in the same circle of people I’ve known for a long time’.

He says that the one thing about the Transport Industry is that we’re a genuine bunch. 

“I enjoy making connections with customers and also the drivers. This means the drivers can receive a handover with someone who has been on the road like they have. I understand the importance of safety and not having product be over-engineered. Focusing on the driver experience means that they are happier and safer at work, have pride in their job, are more efficient and more likely to stick around. Everyone wins!”

As for what his customers can look forward to, Tim says that he’s all about looking after ongoing relationships. 

“Everyone says this, but I mean it. I’ll focus on clear communication and look forward to addressing any areas that customers are unsure about or need clarification. You’ll get followup calls and great after-sales support. And if there is anything that I can’t help with, I can easily get the right people involved.” 

Transport Trailers say that Tim has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the transport industry and is excited about this new role. He is looking forward to meeting all of our customers throughout New Zealand and we believe he will be a great addition to Transport Trailers.
