By popular demand, AutoSense brings sell-out event to Christchurch on 21 February 2025.

AutoSense is excited to announce the return of the NZI-sponsored Transport Leaders Forum, giving South Island-based transport decision-makers their first chance to attend the event at the Christchurch Town Hall on Friday, 21 February next year.

The sell-out breakfast event debuted in Auckland in 2024 with a line-up of inspirational speakers. Life coach and BBM Founder Dave Letele, motorsport legend Greg Murphy, and Coda Group CE Deena Clarkson will return to the Christchurch podium to address the important issues facing people in the transport industry.

AutoSense CEO Charles Dawson encourages transport operators to book tables for their team, saying, “This is the perfect opportunity to kick-start the year with actionable ideas to create safer, healthier workplaces”.

“We can’t talk about health and well-being without a gentle morning workout from Dave Letele, named a New Zealander of the Year Local Hero, whose business aims to motivate people to get fit and transform their lives. We encourage transport operators to book a table for their decision-makers and support them in setting initiatives for health, safety and wellbeing.”

Letele is a living testament to overcoming obesity and will share his inspiring transformation journey. Formerly weighing 210 kilograms, he will take the audience through his emotional roller coaster, highlighting the power of determination, perseverance, and the importance of mental and physical fitness in building a solid team culture.

His talk preludes Coda Group Chief Executive, Deena Clarkson, who discusses the health, safety, and wellness strategy of one of New Zealand’s largest logistic providers. Coda Group works with over 70 transport services or partners across to manage container export flows and transport modes around New Zealand for key blue-chip brands.

Clarkson shares insights into leading through a changing landscape, implementing health, safety, and wellness initiatives, and achieving breakthrough results. “Coda focuses on safeguarding our people and is working hard to ensure our fleet complies with the best safety standards.”

Greg Murphy will talk about his motorsport career, emphasising the importance of driver safety. With over 400 V8 Supercar race starts Murphy will shed light on the team environment, culture, and technology used to enhance performance.

Clarkson said Murphy visited the Coda Group to speak to the team about the Group’s installation of safety technology, including camera systems, as a minimum fleet requirement.

“Greg engaged with our team in a way that made our drivers sit up to listen, with the strong message,  ‘As all professional drivers, we need to be putting safety first every day.’”

Oliver Jepson, NZI National Motor Manager, shared his enthusiasm for bringing the event to the South Island.

“We’re proud to support the Transport Leaders Forum and see it expand to Christchurch. This forum aligns perfectly with our commitment to keeping drivers safe and supporting good risk management and healthier work environments in the transport industry. It’s a chance for South Island leaders to join the conversation and gain valuable insights to improve team wellbeing and safety outcomes,” he said.

Sponsored by NZI, the Transport Leaders Forum breakfast will be held on Friday, 21 February 2025, at the Christchurch Town Hall from 7.30 am to 11 am. Murphy says the event is ‘must-do’ for all transport businesses and fleet operators who want to know how to impact change and mobilise their teams to enhance fleet health and safety in 2025.
