Straitline Canvas and TR Group Partner to Trial Recycled PVC on Truck Curtains
Posted: 16-Aug-2024 |
In a groundbreaking move towards sustainability and eco-conscious practices, Straitline Canvas has announced their pioneering trial of recycled PVC on truck curtains in New Zealand. Teaming up with TR Group, a leading provider of transport solutions, the initiative marks the first-ever trial of Transport 9000 Eco fabric in the country.
The trial, spanning 1-2 years, aims to demonstrate the viability and durability of the Transport 9000 Eco fabric in real-life New Zealand conditions. This bold step positions Straitline Canvas as one of the first three companies worldwide to test this innovative material, underlining their commitment to environmental responsibility.
Key Features of Transport 9000 Eco Fabric: Sustainability: The fabric contains a minimum of 35% recycled content. Innovative Manufacturing: The base cloth is crafted from 100% recycled PET bottles, with an average of 16 recycled plastic bottles used per square metre of Eco CF. Durability: The fabric matches the high standards of the widely-used 8556 PVC fabric. Environmental Impact: An estimated 14% reduction in carbon emissions compared to regular 8556 PVC. UV Resistance: The exterior coating consists of 100% new white PVC, ensuring UV resistance.
The uniqueness of the Transport 9000 Eco Fabric lies in its use of up to 25% recycled raw materials in the coating mass, along with being manufactured with 100% R-PES yarns. These materials undergo a meticulous separation and filtering process, significantly reducing the environmental impact and resource consumption. As a result, the material comprises over 35% recycled raw materials, contributing to a greener manufacturing process.
Partnering with TR Group for this initiative, Straitline Canvas is poised to make a substantial impact on sustainability efforts within the transportation industry. The trial of Transport 9000 Eco fabric symbolises a crucial step towards a more environmentally conscious future.
