Temperature-controlled transport operator Refrigafreighters (RF) is set to expand its operations with the opening of a new hub in Auckland, slated for mid-2026. Located in the Airport Oaks area, this advanced facility is designed to boost RF's capacity and cater to the growing demands of its third-party logistics (3PL) customers.

The new 2.2-hectare site will house cutting-edge technology and eco-friendly infrastructure, reflecting RF’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. Key features include a 7500-square-meter building equipped with 10 docks, ample truck and trailer parking, and storage space for 6000 frozen and 2000 chilled pallets. Third-party logistics operators are expected to benefit greatly from these enhancements. The design and construction of the facility have been entrusted to Apollo Projects, a renowned firm specializing in modern industrial solutions .

This development follows RF’s establishment of a purpose-built facility in Ruakura, Hamilton, in late 2024, and represents the company’s ongoing efforts to consolidate its Auckland sites. By centralizing its services, RF aims to streamline operations, improve transport efficiency, and provide exceptional service to clients. The new Auckland hub is poised to support future growth while meeting the evolving needs of a diverse customer base.

RF’s announcement arrives at a time of increasing investment in New Zealand’s logistics infrastructure, with initiatives across different sectors to enhance resilience and efficiency. The Auckland hub reaffirms RF’s commitment to innovating in the temperature-controlled transport space, aligning with the needs of the country’s growing trade and logistics markets.

As RF progresses towards the completion of this state-of-the-art facility, its focus remains on delivering innovative, sustainable, and reliable transport solutions, bolstering its position as a key player in New Zealand's logistics industry.
