National Road Carriers Association, New Zealand’s progressive nationwide organisation representing supply chain companies, welcomes the appointment of Steven Joyce to chair the new Infrastructure Agency design panel.

National Road Carriers Association (NRC) CEO Justin Tighe-Umbers says appointing Steven Joyce clearly shows the Government is expecting this new agency to be a high-performing delivery-focused entity.

Tighe-Umbers said NRC has called for a long-term plan and delivery model for infrastructure and is pleased to see the Government taking real steps towards putting that in place.

According to his media profile, Steven Joyce is a strategic commercial and public policy advisor. Former New Zealand Finance Minister, senior economic minister and radio entrepreneur. Trained zoologist.

“I have 30 plus years of successful leadership experience across a unique mix of senior commercial and government roles, working in governance and executive positions with boards of directors, ministers, external stakeholders and the public.

“I have a strong strategic focus, working with others to create and deliver competitive plans and programmes in a range of commercial and political settings, including restructuring and reorganising entities if necessary and building momentum to achieve the required results.

“I believe strongly in communicating the vision regularly to all stakeholders, and taking people with me. I design structures around achieving measurable outcomes, and work constantly to remove roadblocks to enable people and teams to own and achieve the goals set for the organisation.”
