Narva Launches New Ultima MK3 LED Driving Lights with Enhanced Performance and Customisation
Posted: 24-Oct-2024 |

Lighting specialist Narva has unveiled the latest addition to its renowned Ultima LED driving light range, the Ultima 215 MK3. This new model boasts a remarkable enhancement in effective output, claiming to deliver up to 30% more light than its predecessor, the MK2, while providing greater durability, control, and customization options.

The new Ultima MK3 is expected to set a new benchmark for driving lights, with Narva stating that its MK2 lamps were already regarded as Australia’s best hybrid beam pattern driving lights. The MK3 introduces a cutting-edge spot beam pattern that reaches over 1,400 metres of forward distance per pair, and more than 1,200 metres in hybrid beam configuration. Narva emphasises that the impressive penetration is accompanied by a beam spread of up to 92 metres, significantly improving hazard detection for safer nighttime driving.

Notably, the wider beam width featured in the spot beam enhances visibility compared to other driving lights. However, to minimise unwanted light flare from road signs, a deliberate reduction in width by 12 metres has been made when compared to the hybrid beam configuration.

Narva engineers have rigorously experimented with 60 different LED and optic pairings to achieve the improved performance of the Ultima MK3. Each lamp can output up to 20,157 effective Lumens, utilising high-performance 10W Cree LEDs. The lights underwent extensive testing in Narva's NATA-approved photometric light lab in Melbourne, alongside rigorous real-world evaluations both on and off-road.

“Our excitement for the launch is palpable,” said James Pearson, Senior Brand Manager for Narva. “The Ultima MK3 will undoubtedly set new benchmarks in the realm of LED driving lamps. Building on the legacy of its predecessors, it enhances light output, reliability, and durability for a variety of applications, from recreational four-wheel driving to commercial transport.”
