Lower North Island/Upper South Island - Planned state highway roadworks

Lower North Island - Recent bad weather has meant changes have had to be made to the timing of several maintenance projects in Wellington and the Hutt Valley. Road resurfacing can only be done effectively in dry weather.

Inner city spruce up planned for State Highway 1, Wellington CBD. Upcoming night closures for SH2 Petone - final stages of resurfacing works. Further night closures planned for SH1 between Johnsonville and Tawa for resurfacing works. Planned overnight maintenance closures for State Highway 2, Remutaka Hill next week

Top of the South Island - Resilience and rock scaling work is planned for State Highway 65 at Higgins Bluff next month, three weeks of night closures begin this Sunday on State Highway 6 between Hira and Rai Valley, and the Pelorus Bridge will also be closed for repairs on Sunday night.

No one wants to be stuck between a rock and a hard place - Rock scaling works planned for State Highway 65, Higgins Bluff. Keeping State Highway 6 in tip top shape – night closures begin next week.
