LDX, the Linde Material Handling Equipment Distributor for New Zealand, has been awarded an exclusive service and maintenance contract to manage Fonterra’s material handling fleet.
LDX will be responsible for a large number of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) units across the Fonterra Manufacturing and Global Supply Chain operations within NZ.
“Fonterra is one of New Zealand’s largest companies, so to be awarded this contract is a huge vote of confidence in LDX,” said Colm Hamrogue, CEO of LDX and its parent company, TDX.
“Fonterra has a large fleet and the LDX team worked hard to demonstrate that we will be up to the challenge. We have a talented team of service technicians and support staff, located around the country, and are privileged to be given the opportunity to support Fonterra’s operations.
“There is also a strong and shared alignment with regards to environmental considerations and sustainability initiatives, such as reducing our respective carbon footprints. Linde innovation such as the Lithium-ION battery range supports this approach.
“Fonterra is an iconic company doing great things both locally and on the world stage and it’s fantastic that LDX will be contributing to their success.”
The decision to choose LDX was made easier based on Fonterra’s own experience with Linde product.
“The majority of our fleet is Linde so we are already familiar with the product and are impressed with the technology, innovation and all-round performance,” said Kent Pohio, National Operations Manager – Assets, Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited. “This is a strategic partnership for a critical part of our operation. We see the benefit of having a partner that can support us on our journey to reduce emissions, provide a safe working environment for our people and continuously improve our operation through innovation. We were equally impressed with the support and dedication shown by the LDX team through the tendering process. They have demonstrated that they are committed to building a true partnership and we can’t wait to have them onboard servicing and maintaining our fleet.
LDX will transition to become the service and maintenance agent for Fonterra and will officially become the exclusive provider for Fonterra’s fleet from the 1st of October.
