June 2025 Issue of NZ Truck & Driver out next week

The versatile Scania can work as a tractor unit transporting heavy machinery or towing a cement tanker, while a quick change talent allows it to be fitted with a Mills-Tui swap body for tipper work.

This month’s Fleet Focus takes a look at the history of Christchurch company Ray Brown Contracting. The story begins in 1963 and now stretches through three generations of the Brown family. We visit the Hornby operation where the working trucks and a couple of restored gems enjoy the luxury of living under cover.

National Road Carriers Association CEO Justin Tighe-Umbers reports the association is encouraged by the freight focus from new Transport Minister Chris Bishop and work to deliver a more efficient roading system and the New Zealand Heavy Haulage Association updates its advocacy efforts to secure access to new Roads of National (and Regional) Significance for the oversize and heavy haulage sector.
