JAC EV Trucks providing greener deliveries for Woolworths

Kiwi truck team, JAC has had its latest EV truck roll out the door to Woolworths New Zealand.
The JAC 100% Electric Truck will be used for Woolworths’ Online Shopping delivery service, providing greener deliveries for Kiwis. With zero tailpipe emissions, the truck runs the chiller unit off the EPTO (electric power take-off) which gives the added benefit of no diesel idling to keep the fridge-freezer at temperature.
JAC New Zealand General Manager Andrew Craw commented that “the latest EV delivery to Woolworths shows their commitment to lower emissions trucking and we’re proud to have our JAC EV Truck as part of this positive initiative”.
The team has also recently announced its support of the food rescue charity, KiwiHarvest, of which Woolworths is also a proud supporter. The addition of the JAC truck to KiwiHarvest’s operations has expanded its operations – while reducing its carbon footprint.
In its first month of supporting KiwiHarvest the EV Truck has exceeded expectations with the chilled truck completing its full daily run of collections and drop-offs across Auckland, arriving back to base having used only 20-25% of the battery across its average distance of 62.2kms a day – operating well within the JAC’s fully-loaded urban range of 200km+.
The JAC truck was part-funded by the Government’s Low Emissions Heavy Vehicle Fund, administered by EECA (Energy Efficiency and Conversation Authority). The JAC EV trucks are eligible for grants of up to 25% off the cab chassis price, capped at $35,000.
