Road users can expect night-time delays in the first half of this month on State Highway 20 (SH20) southbound between Massey Road and Puhinui Road while road rehabilitation takes place. 

The rehabilitation has been scheduled for approximately 7-night shifts (10pm to 5am) between Tuesday 3 and Tuesday 17 March (excluding Friday and Saturday nights).

When the closure is in place, please follow the signposted detour via Massey Road, Buckland Road, Portage Road, Station Road, Wyllie Road and Puhinui Road 

Nearby properties may experience increased noise levels while the team complete the work.

SH1 Bairds Road overbridge nightworks

The State Highway 1 (SH1) Bairds Road (local road) overbridge will be closed overnight from Monday 2 to Thursday 5 March for the replacement of a bridge joint on the overbridge. 

While the team are working between 9pm and 5am there will be a full closure in both directions on the overbridge and the following detours will be in place

Traffic travelling eastbound across the overbridge will be detoured via Great South Road, East Tamaki Road and Ōtara Road.

Traffic travelling westbound across the overbridge will be detoured via Hellabys Road to SH1 Highbrook Drive northbound on-ramp. Travel north on the motorway and exit at SH1 Princes Street. Follow the signposted detour via Princes Street, Atkinson Ave and Great South Road.

The detours will add approximately 10 minutes to journeys.

Vehicles travelling under the bridge on SH1 will not be affected. 

Nearby properties will experience increased noise levels as the team will need to cut into the road surface, remove and replace the bridge joint and reinstate the road surface.
