Current fuel stock as at 11:59pm Sunday 14 June (as days' cover).

The fuel supply chain continues to operate smoothly, with fuel flowing into the country as expected. 

Overall fuel stocks remain well above minimum requirements and within normal ranges, with regular shipments continuing to arrive as expected.

Fuel importers have provided good confidence through confirmed orders to late July, with planned orders extending into September.

Note: The diesel stock and shipping data on this page does not include the strategic diesel reserve purchased by Z Energy under an agreement with the Government (the first shipment of which is enroute to New Zealand).

Up until 30 November 2026, the Government can choose to make this diesel available to fuel importers if there are supply issues. Fuel companies can request access to the reserve, with each request carefully reviewed before any decisions are made to ensure the reserve is used where it is most needed.

If the diesel is not needed to support fuel supply, it will be gradually integrated into normal supply from 1 December 2026 through to the end of January 2027.
