Chinese manufacturer BYD has unveiled a new line-up of electric vans and trucks, highlighted by the E-Vali, a zero-emission light commercial vehicle (LCV), at the IAA Transportation 2024 show in Hannover, Germany. The E-Vali, available in 3.5 and 4.25-tonne configurations, features a WLTP range of 220-250 km and is powered by a cobalt-free 80.64 kWh Blade Battery made from Lithium Iron-Phosphate (LFP), which offers enhanced safety and thermal stability.

The E-Vali’s innovative design includes a six-in-one electric powertrain for maintenance efficiency, a standard energy-saving heat pump, and a spacious cargo area with a sliding side door and wide-opening rear doors. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) come standard, offering features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure assist. The cabin boasts a modern instrument panel, large touchscreen with split-screen capability, and ergonomic seating to facilitate ease of access for drivers.

Additionally, BYD debuted several other electric vehicles, including the 7.5-ton ETM6 truck, with a range of up to 200 km, and the EYT 2.0 yard tractor, designed for ports and terminals, capable of handling up to 75 tons gross combined weight. The ETH8, a 19-ton electric truck, was also introduced, featuring a versatile platform and a range of 250 km.

Michael Shu, managing director of BYD Europe, highlighted the company's commitment to sustainable solutions and its vision of reducing global temperatures through innovative electric vehicles tailored for the European market.
