Courier and freight company Aramex New Zealand is proud to announce its support of child cancer charity Camp Quality New Zealand.

Under the partnership, Aramex New Zealand is providing funding, transportation assistance, free-of-charge deliveries and hands-on volunteer support, ensuring Camp Quality can deliver ‘fun, hope and happiness’ to children living with cancer.

Camp Quality is a volunteer charitable trust dedicated to providing camps where a caring environment, friendship and a ‘can-do’ culture inspire children living with cancer to overcome the challenges cancer brings.

Each year Camp Quality programmes cater to around 300 children aged 5-16, at various locations around the country, at no cost to families.

“As our footprint has grown as a company, so too has our drive to give back to the communities our courier network serves,” says CEO of Aramex New Zealand, Mark Little.

“We believe in partnering with community organisations that have a similar ethos, run by volunteers whose efforts truly benefit those in need.

“Camp Quality is a charity very close to my heart, as my family attended their camps in Auckland when my daughter was bravely fighting cancer. I’ve seen firsthand the immense positive impact they make.

“My daughter has been in remission for 10 years now, but we will never forget the incredible impact Camp Quality has had on our lives, and the lifelong friendships my daughter has made with children she met through Camp Quality. Cancer can happen to any family. That’s why our network of Aramex regional franchisees, courier franchisees and employees are showing their support.”

Mark attended the Auckland summer camp earlier this year, to meet with those benefitting from the partnership firsthand.

“I enjoyed my time at the Auckland camp immensely, getting to know the campers and taking part in some of the activities. It brought back many happy memories.”

Mark says that the whole Aramex team is already getting behind the charity. At the company’s annual Regional Franchise conference, the business held a fundraiser where $25,000 was raised for Camp Quality.

“It was terrific to see our franchisees and colleagues come together to support this very worthwhile cause, and we look forward to doing more over the coming years.”

For Camp Quality General Manager Dave Bellamy, there’s no doubt Aramex’s contribution will be put to good use and is going to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people living with cancer.

“It is the support from New Zealand businesses like Aramex, that helps to make our camps possible. Without this support, we simply couldn’t run our camps. We are thrilled to have Aramex as a partner and can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.”

The summer camps took place across the country throughout January 2024, with camps in the South Island, Auckland and Northland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty, Wellington and the Central Districts, and Christchurch.

In addition to supporting Camp Quality, Aramex New Zealand has been a long-term supporter of child health research organisation Cure Kids, and the Cancer Society’s Daffodil Day appeal, where regional franchisees assist with the sorting and delivery of daffodils.
