The updated Canter range comprising 26 model variants features 3.0-litre diesel engines in 129kW/430Nm and remapped 110kW/400Nm Euro 6 output levels is now available to order in New Zealand.

The Euro 6 Canter models bring the complete Fuso range in line with current New Zealand emissions regulations, which require new vehicle imports to meet Euro 6 or equivalent standards. The new models also offer further safety and comfort enhancements across the range.

Freer says the new Canter also delivers practical improvements for operators across a wide range of light-duty applications.

The FUSO Canter Euro 6 range features fuel efficient 129kW/430Nm and 110kW/400Nm engine options. Its SCR system delivers reductions in NOx emissions, while maintaining optimal power output and overall performance.

The remapped 110kW 4P10-T4 engine delivers increased torque (previously 370Nm) for smoother acceleration and stronger performance on and off-road, under load, and in demanding stop-start delivery conditions.

Driver comfort and safety have been further enhanced across the new Canter range. All 4x2 and 4x4 single-cab models feature Isringhausen driver and passenger seats to help reduce fatigue.

Visibility inside and out has been improved through LED tail lamps (standard on all models excluding tippers) and upgraded spotter mirrors on the Wide Cab 918 and 4x4 variants – boosting situational awareness in tight spaces.

These updates join existing safety features, including Active Emergency Braking, Electronic Stability Control, Lane Departure Warning and ABS with EBD.

Every Canter model also comes with a 5-year/200,000km extended warranty (T&Cs apply).

Along with the 110kW and 129kW engine choices the Canter range includes 5-speed manual and 6-speed auto (AMT) transmission options. There are City Cab, Wide Cab and Crew Cab configurations available along with seven wheelbase options ranging from 2,500mm to 4,750mm and GVM ratings between 4,983kg and 8,550kg.
