Hudson Rd at the northern edge of Warkworth offers a glimpse into the fast-paced development of the wider Rodney district.

The commercial and industrial street is nearby the current end point of the Northern  Motorway – and the start location for the planned next section north to Te Hana.

And at the intersection of Hudson Rd and what was previously SH1, there is a new service station and a large Pak N Save supermarket.

A longtime resident and witness to the changes in the Hudson Rd is civil construction company Rhodes for Roads. Just behind the yard for its trucks, machines, and stockpiled supplies, there is a residential subdivision being developed which will bring another boost to Warkworth’s population – forecast to reach 25,000 by 2050.
