Northchill Group has turned up the volume for the latest addition to its fleet.

The first Kenworth T620 sleeper cab to hit the road in New Zealand, Starting Over is the latest showcase for Northchill’s renowned attention to detail and top notch fleet presentation.

Eye-catching paint, plenty of custom stainless and extra lighting, a polished Kentweld bumper, and Armoury chrome wheels are among the visual highlights of the new 8x4 tractor fitted with an 860mm Aero Roof sleeper cab.

The T620 is typically seen running between Auckland and Palmerston North, paired with a new 15.1-metre Fairfax Signature refrigerated quad semi.

If it isn’t broken, don’t try to fix it – just make thoughtful improvements. That appears to be Kenworth’s philosophy with the new T620, an evolution rather than a revolution from the T610.

From the outside the T620 won’t immediately catch the eye as a major departure from the T610. The 2.1m-wide cab that the T610 introduced remains, and Kenworth’s classic face and presence are preserved. The T620 adds a few rounded aerodynamic touches that tidy the lines, but this isn’t a wholesale redesign, which will please buyers who liked the T610’s look and ergonomics.

Where Kenworth has focused effort is inside the cab and under the bonnet — the areas that matter most to drivers over long hours.

The new models are available with the Euro 6 version of the Cummins X15 engine, and that can be paired with the Endurant XD Pro transmission or the 18-speed Roadranger.
