Share the Road goes online
Posted: 01-Dec-2021 |

A series of online workshops developed to provide safer interactions between cyclists and heavy vehicle drivers is now available.

The online content extends the reach of the `Share the Road’ workshops which have allowed 3,500 cyclists and 3,000 drivers to understand each other’s on road situations.

People riding bicycles rank highly as a source of concern as they are often hard to see, fail to indicate and can be unpredictable.

“An online version of the popular Toolbox workshop has been developed, successfully trialled, and approved by Waka Kotahi,” says Richard Barter, Share the Road campaign manager.

“The focus on participant engagement and involvement is a priority. We deliver the workshop in meeting rooms with video conferencing facilities, it could be just a laptop.

“Workshop times are about 20 minutes. There is no cost to you but the peace of mind knowing that you have done everything you could to reduce the likelihood of incidents involving your staff is priceless.”
