Dean Purves from Mills-Tui Limited in Rotorua has been announced the winner of the inaugural ‘Show off your Hardox body’ photo competition, run by Real Steel between March and July 2020.

“They don't get much bigger and tougher than this!” Says Dean of the winning unit, which is Rob Dahm Limited’s Billet unit truck pictured, folded by Real Steel and built by Mills-Tui.

Hardox has seen phenomenal success since it first entered the New Zealand market in 2012. In the past seven years, nearly 4000 Hardox truck or trailers and their drivers have been loading and unloading heavy and sharp rocks, steel scrap, demolition materials and other abrasives.

Real Steel, a family-owned company based in Wellington imports Hardox plate from Sweden and processes it in their factory before sending it on to truck builders and engineers around the country.

‘Show off your Hardox body’ is in celebration of New Zealand’s 4000th Hardox truck – a huge milestone for Real Steel which will take place in the next few months,” says Luke Mathieson, Managing Director of Real Steel.
