Fuso takes First in January
Posted: 04-Feb-2021 |

The January Commercial registrations (4501-Max GVM) have been released and Fuso has leapfrogged Isuzu to take pole position. In all, 265 vehicles were registered for the month (down from 384 in 2020), however, with 60 truck sales, Fuso claimed 20.3% market share ahead of Isuzu with 55 sales and 18.6% market share. Hino, Kenworth and Mercedes filled up the top five spots with 36, 25 and 18 sales respectively.

The 23% drop in sales (yoy) is obviously significant and follows on from a fall of near 8% in 2020, however, it’s obvious that the Covid hangover has yet to abate.

Volvo, Foton, DAF, Iveco and Scania all reported market share sales within the 4-5% range, Oddly enough, DAF, Foton, Fiat, Western Star and Hyundai all lodged sales volume growth.
